Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a Vice President, Development and Partnerships to play a pivotal
executive leadership role in shaping the institution’s growth trajectory, market position, and external
relationships. Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key member of the executive leadership
team, the Vice President will lead an integrated portfolio focused on industry solutions & partnerships,
fundraising, communications & marketing, recruitment, applied research, and ancillary & sports services.

This role represents a unique opportunity for a strategic, externally focused executive to accelerate RDP’s
evolution into a more entrepreneurial, market‑responsive, and partnership‑driven polytechnic. The Vice
President will be central to advancing institutional sustainability through strategic partnerships, fundraising,
and alternative revenue models while strengthening RDP’s brand, reputation, and visibility across Alberta
and beyond.

The Vice President will cultivate high‑value relationships with industry, government, donors, and community partners; positioning RDP as a partner of choice for workforce development, applied research, and industry growth. The role is central to developing and leading RDP’s capital campaigns, soliciting, negotiating and stewarding major gifts and leveraging and developing institutional assets (land, facilities, expertise, partnerships) to generate and enhance sustainable, mission‑aligned revenue streams.

The successful candidate will be a strategic, collaborative, and growth‑oriented executive with a
demonstrated record of leading institutional development, external partnerships, and revenue generation
in complex, mission‑driven organizations. They will bring strong business and market insight, credibility with
senior external stakeholders, and a leadership style that balances innovation with accountability.
