The Main Campus and the Health Campus of the UdeS are located on the ancestral territory of the W8banaki Nation, known as Ndakina. With the implementation of the 2021–2026 Action Plan for and with Indigenous Peoples, the UdeS is formalizing a series of commitments aimed at strengthening its ability to support the academic success of Indigenous students and to welcome and recognize Indigenous knowledge and cultures on its campuses and within its teaching, research and community service missions. Through concerted action based on collaboration with Indigenous partners, the UdeS is committed to creating a socially and culturally safe environment that understands the realities and issues facing Indigenous peoples, in order to promote their well-being, ensure their full development, and contribute to a more open and just society.
