Instructors – University Transfer

Lakeland College’s University Transfer department is expanding and is seeking instructors to teach a range of first and second year courses, including:

  • Sociology
  • Indigenous Studies and/or Cree Language
  • Physical Education and Health Education
  • Education and/or Educational Technology
  • Fine Arts

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Teach first-year and upper-level courses as required
  • Prepare course materials, create and maintain syllabi, build and follow rubrics to ensure appropriate assessment of course materials
  • Utilize the D2L learning platform and other technologies, as applicable
  • Evaluate student learning through assignments and examinations
  • Stay current with pedagogical methodologies and integrate new knowledge into teaching
  • Encourage open communication with students through scheduled office hours or drop-in hours, as well as email correspondence as needed
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success
  • Share in departmental duties and team meetings; participate in professional development activities and college-wide events, as applicable
  • Maintain positive relationships with the Dean, Chair, faculty, and staff to ensure a collaborative working environment aimed at student success

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in the area of specialization required
  • Post-secondary teaching experience is an asset

Appointment Details:

Part-time and full-time sessional appointments may be available depending on qualifications, availability, and timetable demands. A full-time continuing position may be available for a qualified candidate with the appropriate combination of courses and experience.

UT Faculty positions are based on the Lloydminster campus. Lakeland College offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, with salary commensurate with education and experience.

The competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected. Employment is for the 2026-2027 academic year and is scheduled to begin in August 2026.
